The First Look at the Ford Mach 1

Ford are expanding their range and have released a teaser image of their new all electric SUV.

The Mach 1 will launch in 2020 and we’ve heard it has taken many styling ques from the Ford Mustang. It will be a performance SUV and is expected to hit roads next year for pre-production testing.

Ford’s initial plan was to launch a practical all electric SUV but changed their plans in order to stand out in the market against all the other EVs being released, with the aim to infuse the Mach 1 with the Mustang’s image, performance and styling.

In the spyshot of the Mach 1 being tested, it's clear that the car is large and has a boxy bonnet but apart from that there is nothing else we can predict, the camouflage is concealing almost every bit of the vehicle so it's difficult to tell what other shapes and lines are featured.

No performance details have been released yet, but the Mach 1 will use lithium ion battery technology and will be produced at a Ford facility in Mexico. It will also be renamed when it goes on sale due to a ton of negative feedback from America.

Ford are aiming to have 40 electrified vehicles by 2022 and 16 of those are set to be fully electric, what do you think of the Mach 1?
